Written by Barkman Concrete Published on June 14th, 2012

Ingrid Wieler who is our Accounts Payable Assistant recently competed at the Skills Canada competition which is Canada’s biggest trade and technology challenge for young people. The event has 40 contest areas, 10,000 spectators and 500 competitors.

“Earlier, in April, I competed in the Skills Manitoba competition in IT-Software Solutions for Business where I got gold. Because of this I was able to go on to the national level. Nationals were held in Edmonton, and although there was a lot of stress involved in the two days of competition, I still had an awesome time. Going to nationals is an amazing experience, and although I got bronze, I was able to join Team Canada because of the age restriction at the international level. Next year, in July, I have the opportunity to go to Germany and compete in World Skills.

I want to say a huge thanks to barkman and the individuals that helped sponsor me. Your support is greatly appreciated.” Ingrid Wieler.

barkman has been a proud supporter of Skills Manitoba as they also have a landscaping division and trades related to our industry.
