Production Machine Operator

This role will be located in our world class paving stone production facility. You will be trained as a Production Machine Operator on a two-week rotating shift: 6:00am-2:00pm and 1:30pm-10:00pm, Monday to Friday. You will be responsible for the production of various landscape products with a high commitment on meeting quality standards.

Some of the responsibilities and qualifications for this role include:

  • Operating a Hess RH-2000 machine that produces pre-cast concrete products such as paving stones, sidewalk slabs and retaining walls
  • Follow daily job travelers to ensure orders are complete
  • Assist with the Total Preventative Maintenance program for the machine
  • Ensure that safety policies are followed
  • Maintain quality workmanship
  • Responsible for tracking data and information in computer system


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment running a production machine
  • Experience operating heavily automated production equipment
  • Capability to lead one to two others if required
  • Ability to troubleshoot irregularities on production machinery
  • Basic maintenance experience and a mechanical aptitude
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Comfortable with using computers for entering data and recording information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts
  • Basic concrete/precast knowledge an asset
  • Demonstrate great teamwork and maintain a positive work environment
  • Experience using precision measuring tools for quality checks
  • An eye for detail and color to create products that meet customer expectations
